Q&A with Laetitia Andrac

Laetitia Andrac is the author of the new book Light It: How to Trust Your Intuition and Build a Thriving Business. She heads the consulting business Essential Shift, and she lives in Australia.

Q: What inspired you to write Light It?

A: The genesis of Light It was witnessing a paradigm in dire need of transformation. Entrepreneurs, brilliant yet beleaguered, were outsourcing their intuition to the relentless hustle and grind, forsaking their unique journey.

This disconnect became painfully apparent when a dear friend and a client, both battling cancer, mirrored the toll of such burnout.

Mariah's story in the book isn't just a narrative; it's a wake-up call. It's about reclaiming the essence of our path, where slowing down is not falling behind, but a strategic move to align with our true purpose.

Q: What do you see as the role of intuition in the business world?

A: Intuition in business isn't just a personal tool; it's a lever of monumental change, as evidenced by trailblazers like Richard Branson.

In my research and exploration, which I shared in Light It, Branson emerges as a paradigm of intuitive business practices. He leans into his intuition, using it as a guiding force in decision-making, from what to sell, to whom to help. His success is not a mere product of chance but a testament to trusting this inner compass.

Similarly, other visionaries like Jeff Bezos have harnessed intuition alongside data and strategy, proving that intuition is not antithetical to business acumen but rather its powerful ally.

These leaders exemplify the essence of Light It – that intuition is the missing link in a world inundated with data and analytics. By embracing this intuitive prowess, entrepreneurs can carve paths not only led by logic but illuminated by insight and foresight.

In essence, intuition in business is about tapping into an innate wisdom, an undercurrent that guides decisions beyond the visible and quantifiable. It's what gives entrepreneurs like Branson and Bezos their edge, their unique ability to foresee and forge ahead in uncharted territories.

Light It aims to empower every entrepreneur to tap into this invaluable resource, transforming their journey from mere success to a legacy of visionary leadership.

Q: How was the book’s title chosen, and what does it signify for you?

A: The journey to “Light It” as a title was serendipitous yet profound. Initially inclined towards “Light Your Way,” a pivot was needed when I discovered Michelle Obama's The Light We Carry.

The final title crystallized during an editing epiphany, embodying not just the LIGHT framework at the book's core but also serving as a clarion call to action, akin to Nike's “Just Do It.” It’s an invitation to ignite the light within and pave an illuminated path in business and life.

Q: What do you hope readers take away from the book?

A: My aspiration for every reader of Light It is to emerge transformed – not just informed. It's about instilling a deep-seated trust in their intuition, honoring the process, and fervently pursuing their vision.

I urge readers to let their business be a reflection of their inner light, not a force that drives them to the brink. It's a guide to lead, not just in business, but in life, with health, happiness, and harmony as co-pilots.

Q: What are you working on now?

A: Presently, I'm channeling my energy into amplifying the reach of Light It, aspiring to touch more lives and minds. Concurrently, I'm stepping onto stages, embracing speaker engagements to elevate awareness.

The seeds for another book are being sown, promising to be another journey of insight and inspiration. My current trajectory is not just about a book; it's about a movement.

Q: Anything else we should know?

A: A passion of mine, often unexplored in the business context, is astrology and numerology. In 2024, I plan to delve deeper into this realm, integrating these mystical arts with pragmatic business strategies.

It’s about bridging the cosmic with the corporate, offering a unique perspective to my community. Light It is just the beginning of this exploratory journey into the universe's secrets and their application in our entrepreneurial quests.
