A grandchild was born with an inherited metabolic disorder. As the family rushed her back to the hospital because of decompensation, dealt with new developments such as her loss of hearing, or called us to bring her sister to our home during her own childhood illnesses in order not to expose her sister, we witnessed the myriad ways that family dynamics were impacted. I'm so glad your novel will address the difficulties siblings face, too. Our grandchild is thriving now, at almost seventeen, but I offer my condolences for the loss of your brother.<br /><br />My own novel-in-progress was also prompted by an event in our family, a secret revealed only when my father was in his final year of life.
